Job Summary:
Chastain & Associates LLC (Chastain) has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer III working with public or private infrastructure projects in our Rockford Office. Qualified candidates will work in a collaborative environment with our team and alongside clients from private to municipal, state, and federal jurisdictions. 

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer with the State of Illinois.
  • Eight or more years of experience as a Project Manager working on water and wastewater related projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS or similar programs.
  • Strong oral and written communication, presentation skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Management of project life cycle from start to finish and within specified budget.
  • Design and prepare plans, specifications and estimates for multiple projects.
  • Manage and coordinating all disciplines in the project, all subconsultants, and most importantly, the client.
  • Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other).
  • Interpret specifications and drawings, recommend and document design modifications, and coordinate with the design team.
  • Monitor progress, supplies, and equipment; compile reports to ensure timely project completion; and report any deficiencies or issues to aid with quick resolution.
  • Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Checks on all projects to uphold Chastain’s principle of superior service to all our clients.
  • Oversee and mentor staff and assist other departments within Chastain with project support.
  • Manage client relationships and actively cultivate new business connections.
