Our Paris office – Francis Engineering a Chastain affiliate – has enjoyed serving civil engineering needs of East-Central Illinois for nearly sixty years. As the office’s Civil Engineer, you will work alongside our Team of professionals on multiple fast-paced land development and municipal design projects.

The Paris Office is located on the north end of Downtown Paris in Edgar County – a short walk or drive to a variety of restaurants and shops. Our office has served clients in East Central Illinois and West Central Indiana since 1963.
Our office thrives in a collaborative environment where open door is always the policy. Our team of professionals’ brainstorm and innovate on a variety of public and private infrastructure projects. We are a one-stop shop for infrastructure. Conceptual design, construction design and observation, and funding acquisition are all used to accomplish our core disciplines of transportation engineering, structural engineering, railroad engineering, construction engineering, surveying, urban planning, land development, and land acquisition. Basically, if you have infrastructure needs, we have got you covered.

We are short drive to Turkey Run State Park. We maintain our small-town atmosphere, but our geographic location makes it easy to access urban life. We are 30 minutes from Terre Haute, IN and 2 hours from Indianapolis, not to mention less than an hour from Champaign-Urbana and Charleston-Mattoon. You will:
- Manage and perform design engineering for site development projects
- Manage and perform design engineering for municipal infrastructure projects
- Design roadways, parking lots, utility systems and street improvements and create grading plans – including applicable permitting
- Have the opportunity for construction inspection and documentation
- Coordinate with clients and build your professional network; and
- Collaborate with our top-notch team of engineers, technicians, planners, administrators, and allied professionals to identify solutions to design and funding challenges.
You may be fit for this role if you:
- Have 5+ years civil engineering experience
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Be licensed as an Engineer Intern
- Be proficient in MicroStation/Geopak/Inroads
- Have working knowledge in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Have ArcGIS knowledge – while not required, it is a plus!
- Have strong technical, oral and writing communication and presentation skills
- Want to work in a collaborative team environment
- Are an Illinois licensed Professional Engineer – desired, although not required
