Construction Observation Technician - Decatur, IL
Job Description:
Chastain has an immediate opening for a construction observation technician with four or more years of construction management experience in municipal water and wastewater treatment plant construction and rehabilitation projects. This is a full-time position from our Decatur office with projects located in the Decatur area.
Job Responsibilities:
The construction observation technician will perform a variety of observation tasks by on a variety of municipal water and wastewater treatment construction project types. Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to management, supervision, and coordination of entire construction process, coordination with client, contractors, interpreting designs and specifications as required, problem resolution, and perform or ensure quality control is accomplished for each project. Responsibilities may also include construction observation, documentation, and preparation of pay estimates. Candidate should have a working knowledge of small-scale water treatment and wastewater treatment plant construction.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have at a minimum an Associate of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management and have four or more years of experience in construction inspection. Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to work in a team environment are required.
