Requirements: Chastain has an immediate opening for a Resident Engineer in our Schaumburg office that meets these requirements:
Five or more years of experience in construction inspection
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Illinois licensed Professional Engineer
Current IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities Certificate
IDOT QA/QC Technician Training
Strong technical, oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Project experience with IDOT, Illinois Tollway and/or CDOT is a plus
Responsibilities:
The Resident Engineer will provide management, supervision and coordination of the entire construction process.
The Resident Engineer tasks include coordination with the client, contractors and all subconsultants. Manage the project schedule and budget, interpreting designs and specifications as required, problem resolution, and performing or ensuring QA is completed for each project.
Responsibilities also include construction observation, documentation and preparation of pay estimates.
The Resident Engineer will have working knowledge of storm sewer construction, culverts and retaining walls, pavement construction, as well as bridge substructure and superstructures.
