Cronus Chemicals Roadway Improvements, Tuscola, Illinois
Chastain is providing topographic and hydraulic surveys, a Traffic Study, Hydraulic Report, Phase II design engineering, and USACE, NPDES and Farmland Conversion permitting services for the intersection improvements to US 36 & 750E, US 36 & 800E, US 45 & 1050N, and 4.37 miles of roadway improvements to each of these roadways. Design of temporary traffic signals for two intersections to efficiently move more than 2,000 plant workers a day during the facility construction. The bridge will be replaced on 750E over an unnamed tributary to Scattering Fork, and preparation of right-of-way documents will be completed. The improvements are necessary to accommodate the new $14.15 billion Cronus Fertilizer Plant being constructed west of Tuscola on US 36. In a previous contract directly through Cronus Chemicals, Chastain provided topographic and boundary surveys of 240 acres of agricultural land for the proposed fertilizer manufacturing plant. |
