MacArthur High School Renovation, Decatur, Illinois
Chastain provided land surveying services to the school district, and was later retained by the architect to provide Phase II civil engineering services for the renovations to MacArthur High School. Improvements included relocating the main entrance to face Grand Avenue, adding an auditorium, a second gym, minor and major remodeling of classrooms, entry and administration areas, media center, and commons area. Scope of work included site grading, drainage, storm water management, parking lot layout, intersection design, value analysis during design phases of proposed civil engineering systems, project specifications, review of shop drawings, construction observation, and review of change order requests. Construction cost was $32 million and was completed in December 2014. |
