Overlook Adventure Park, Decatur, Illinois
Chastain provided surveying, Phase II design engineering and construction layout services for this 36-hole championship mini golf course and accompanying clubhouse. This development is a key piece of the park districts long-term lakefront development plan, known as Lakeshore Landing. This portion of the plan, located along US 36 and known as Overlook Adventure Park, includes the miniature golf course, clubhouse, two restaurants, and parking lot. Park district officials plan for additional amenities to be built including an outdoor aquatic facility, climbing wall, ropes course, batting cages, and a playground. The first phases of Overlook Adventure Park opened in 2014 after a year of construction and approximately $4 million in costs. |
